Mycelium: Ancient Technology, Modern Contexts

Fri 25 Sep 2026 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM GroundSchool, Irongate Farm, Halls Green, SG4 7DR

Fungi hold many solutions to challenges we face in the modern world, particularly within climate, food & agriculture.

Join Lotta from London Mycology Project at GroundSchool, to learn how fungi can rejuvenate soil, increase biodiversity, improve food security and build climate resilience as well as potentially creating additional revenue streams for farms, gardens and urban spaces.

On this course, you will create, build and inoculate mycelium toolkits and learn the practical skills for growing fungi for food, soil and community.

We use low-tech cultivation methods, sustainable and circular practices that anyone can implement and we grow on repurposed waste products without single-use plastic, sterile conditions or energy demanding infrastructure.

We believe in integrated, intuitive approaches that support and strengthen the local ecology, growing food for all living beings.

You will also enjoy a farm-to-fork lunch, freshly prepared by our GroundSchool chef.

Please note that this course is likely to take place outside or in a covered space without heating. We are awaiting the opening of our new learning centre in 2027.
